Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Strength and Conditioning Coach to work with McLaren Racing employees.
This role is part-time and around 25 hours per week with the flexibility to cover other members of the team on leave.
Based at the McLaren Technology Centre, our brand-new onsite Health & Human Performance Centre aims to elevate health and wellbeing across the team - from elite athlete to casual gym user and those just starting out on their wellbeing journey. We have designed and launched a best-in-class facility, directly supporting our quest to become a world championship winning team.
Reporting directly into the Head of Physiotherapy and Human Performance, the S&C coach will have a passion for fitness and health with the ability to inspire, motivate and guide our employees towards achieving their fitness goals and improving their overall health. The successful candidate must have proven experience as an S&C coach as they will be expected to design and deliver coach-led strength and conditioning and fitness classes for McLaren employees. They will also be required to assist in the day-to-day running of the gym.
Role Dimensions:
Key Accountabilities
To deliver strength and conditioning classes to McLaren Racing Employees in the MPH
Instruct and guide members on the correct use of gym equipment to ensure safety and effectiveness
Lead group fitness classes, including strength training, HIIT, circuit training, Hyrox and Spin
Provide ongoing motivation, support, and feedback to members to help them stay on track with their fitness goals
Demonstrate and promote safe exercise techniques to minimize the risk of injuries
Monitor and track members' progress, progress and regress exercises as needed, and celebrate milestones
Stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, research, and industry developments to continuously enhance knowledge and skills
Maintain a clean and organised gym environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition
Assist with gym promotions, events, and other duties as assigned by the management team
Support the implementation of strength and conditioning services, scientifically designed to maximise individual progress and aid in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field (essential)
MSc in Strength and Conditioning (desirable)
Certified Yoga or Pilates instructor (desirable)
Previous coaching experience as a gym instructor or strength and conditioning coach in a general population gym and sports environment (essential)
Qualified Spin instructor (desirable)
Strength & Conditioning Specialist (UKSCA or CSCS) or working towards (desirable)
Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy, and exercise techniques (essential)
Ability to effectively communicate and motivate individuals of all fitness levels and backgrounds (essential)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with colleagues and members (essential)
Strong organisational and time management skills to efficiently manage multiple responsibilities.
CPR and First Aid certification (desirable).
Passion for health, fitness, and helping others achieve their goals (essential)
Ability to motivate and inspire individuals towards achieving their health and fitness goals through excellent interpersonal skills and positive demeanour.
This position requires working in a gym environment with potential exposure to various exercise equipment, loud music, and temperature fluctuations. The Strength & Conditioning Coach will be required to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings to accommodate shift patterns.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking.
