Summary: This position will work directly with the Apparel Program Manager and is responsible for supporting a range of duties in the scope of purchasing and inventory management for corporate apparel programs. The Purchasing Assistant will support the procurement process from beginning to end by creating purchase orders, maintaining vendor communications, tracking deliveries, and receiving goods. This position will also support inventory management through systems procedures and physical tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Communicate with vendors regarding product information, availability, and pricing.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
- Update and manage order information in the purchasing system.
- Manage order documentation including quotes, order confirmations, and packing slips.
- Continuously review open orders and follow-up with vendors on delivery timelines.
- Assist with the development of sourcing plans and objectives (short and long term) in consideration of lead time, MOQ, safety stock, etc.
- Record inventory transactions to account for product receipts and distributions.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available and prevent shortages.
- Support product inventory management by stocking, labeling, and organizing.
- Facilitate product distribution by picking, staging, and delivering apparel kits.
- Produce or generate reports on purchasing activity, inventory transactions, and spending.
- Support delivery/collection of product to/from local suppliers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement objectives through independent work and participation in project teams.
- Provide general administrative support for the apparel program team and related procurement activities.
- Work closely with the department manager and other team members to assist where needed.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field, preferred. 2+ years experience in purchasing or supply chain required. Working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically inventory management is required. Thorough understanding of chart of accounts and account coding principles. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to persist and succeed with cross-functional communication within scope of responsibility. Must have independent problem-solving skills and the discipline to follow-up and follow through until problems are resolved.
Certificates and Licenses:

Computer Skills:
Proficient at Microsoft Excel, spreadsheet creation and use of formulas.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel. Strong written and oral communication skills are required
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, walk, manually manipulate, reach outward, reach above shoulder level, and lift/carry up to 25+ pounds frequently. This position will frequently push/pull up to 100 pounds. This position will occasionally sit, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend.
Environment Demands:
Works indoors in an office setting.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
