Role Dimensions:
The successful candidate will work with the Head of and Human Performance and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) providing the delivery of physiotherapy services, including the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries to an exceptional standard.
To triage, assess, diagnose, and manage patients referred to the McLaren Performance Hub (MPH) Health Centre and organise onwards referral where appropriate. Acting as a source of clinicalexpertise in the management of MSK issues and provide an advisory service to employees, other MPH staff members, Healthcare Professionals and General Practitioners (GPs) within the MPH practice.
They will be part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising of GPs, Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors (ERI), Strength and Conditioning Coaches and Medical Administrators responsible for the delivery of Physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to MTC Employees.
Additional dimensions to the role include delivering corporate wellness education and advice to McLaren Racing employees. Flexible working hours will be required to deliver physiotherapy support to all MTC McLaren Racing employees meaning there will sometimes be a requirement to work unsocial hours or weekends.
The role will require significant interaction and collaboration with the Lead Physiotherapist to implement the physiotherapy and rehabilitation service at McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).
The role has four main components:
Delivery of MSK physiotherapy service at MTC
Delivery of focused rehabilitation classes
Delivery of corporate wellness strategy and service improvement initiatives
Delivery of IST and service development projects
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in a high-performance environment such as the Military as well as NHS experience preferably as an APP.
To have knowledge, training, experience and a formal qualification and to post-registration MSc level in an MSK physiotherapy discipline or equivalent.
Must have proven experience in the assessment and treatment of complex MSK disorders, sports injuries, orthopaedic and chronic conditions.
Must have proven experience in the application of mobilisation and manipulation techniques, preferably with formal qualification.
Must have experience working autonomously in private practice setting.
Must have prior experience in a clinical specialist role.
Must have strong rehabilitation and exercise provision skills.
Must have an applied knowledge of clinical governance and its use in service development.
Must have proven experience of referring for and interpreting imaging.
Desirable:
Completion of appropriate MSK courses and evidence of continuing CPD and EBP.
Pilates or Yoga qualification.
Injection therapy qualification.
Diagnostic MSK ultrasound qualification.
Women’s Health experience.
Professional Qualifications:
Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP)
State Registered Physiotherapist (HCPC)
Degree in Physiotherapy
Post-registration MSc in MSK Physiotherapy related discipline.
