Job Overview
We are seeking a results-driven and analytical Product Owner to manage and drive the Order Slotting & Sequencing domain within a complex industrial environment.
This role focuses on a customized off-the-shelf solution (OSS) with limited development flexibility. Success in this position relies on a strong functional understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into consistent and effective optimization rules within the tool.
Positioned within IT, the Product Owner acts as a key coordinator between Business teams, Transformation teams, and the system integrator, ensuring that slotting and sequencing logic delivers both:
• Expected operational performance (processing time, robustness),
• High quality of results aligned with business objectives.
The role also includes ownership of performance monitoring and reporting, leveraging external data platforms such as Snowflake and Power BI.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Product Owner include but are not limited to the following:
Functional Ownership & Optimization Rules (Core Mission)
- Act as the functional owner of slotting and sequencing processes.
- Translate business requirements into clear, structured, and consistent optimization rules and parameters within the OSS solution.
- Ensure rules are:
- Aligned with business needs,
- Coherent across use cases,
- Compatible with system performance constraints (processing time, stability).
- Guarantee the reliability and consistency of system outputs.
Product Management & Evolutions
- Manage a focused portfolio of evolutions and enhancements within the OSS framework.
- Prioritize changes based on business impact and system constraints.
- Operate within the limits of a customized market solution with constrained development possibilities.
- Maintain a clear and structured functional roadmap.
Coordination Across IT, Business & Integrator
- Act as a central coordination point within IT across:
- Business stakeholders,
- Transformation/program teams,
- External system integrator.
- Ensure proper translation of business needs into implementable specifications.
- Validate delivered solutions against functional expectations.
- Facilitate alignment and decision-making across stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor slotting and sequencing performance using key operational KPIs.
- Ensure alignment between:
- Optimization logic,
- System performance (especially processing time),
- Expected operational outcomes.
- Identify improvement opportunities and drive adjustments when necessary.
Reporting & Data Management
- Own and structure reporting outside of the OSS solution.
- Leverage Snowflake and Power BI to:
- Track system performance,
- Analyze outputs,
- Provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Ensure data consistency and reliability across systems.
Run & Operational Support
- Act as the IT point of contact for run activities.
- Ensure stability and proper execution of slotting and sequencing processes.
- Coordinate with support teams and integrator for issue resolution.
- Contribute to maintaining overall system performance and reliability.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with:
- Industrial and operations teams,
- Supply chain stakeholders,
- IT and data teams,
- External partners.
- Act as SPOC for the slotting & sequencing domain within IT.
- Support decision-making on rules, parameters, and priorities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in industrial systems, supply chain, or optimization environments.
Strong understanding of:
- Slotting and/or sequencing processes,
- Optimization logic (rules, constraints, parameters).
- Experience working with off-the-shelf solutions (OSS) with limited customization.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to performance and result quality.
- Experience with data tools such as Snowflake and Power BI.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Italian.
Offer
- Salary range: from 45 € to 55 €, that will be defined depending on the level of adherence of the candidate to the job requirements
- Collective Agreement: In accordance with the provisions of the Specific Collective Labour Agreement (CCSL – CNEL code: CO10), and in particular with regard to the classification within the (first / second / third) professional area.
