Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate IT initiatives that support vehicle engineering programs. This role bridges the gap between IT and engineering, ensuring that digital tools, systems, and infrastructure align with the needs of vehicle development, testing, and production. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex projects in the automotive or mobility sector, with a strong understanding of engineering workflows and systems. The candidate must have prior experience in project planning skills, vendor management, business and technical requirements management (functional and non-functional), and a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead IT projects that support vehicle engineering, including CAD/CAE systems, PLM platforms, simulation tools, and data integration.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of engineering software and hardware systems.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Support digital transformation initiatives in vehicle development processes.
- Provide regular updates to engineering leadership and IT governance boards.
- Plan, execute, and finalize IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Execute process to review technical solution with architecture review board.
- Engage vendors (services or product purchases) following budget allocation, project approval, and purchase request processes.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation, within and outside the company.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in IT project management, and 2+ years of automotive experience.
- Familiarity with engineering processes, specifically vehicle testing & simulation.
- Exposure to engineering tools such as Siemens Testlab, Teamcenter, and HPC systems.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- C1 proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
