Remote: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Mountain View or Warren, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
The Role
General Motors is dedicated to creating exceptional learning programs that enhance the technical, professional, and leadership skills of our workforce. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of all new, high-impact learning programs from inception to delivery. Working closely with instructional designers, vendors, subject matter experts, learning program managers, and coordinators to accomplish our goals and take our learning programs to the next level.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the production process of new learning interventions (i.e., digital and classroom assets) from concept, design, to development
- Lead, plan, and implement initiatives in partnership with instructional designers, program managers, and learning design vendors
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and release schedules for each initiative, including timelines, dependencies, key partners, and risks
- Ensure all requirement gathering activities have been appropriately completed in order for the design process to begin
- Manage working group meetings with key stakeholders, instructional designers and vendors if applicable
- Ensure deliverables meet agreed upon acceptance criteria and design constraints
- Promote effective communication within working group, provide effective status updates to key stakeholders, and celebrate wins
- Identify risks and issues and help triage and determine best solutions for resolution
- Ensure quality control throughout the project life cycle
- Gather feedback and propose process improvements
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and budgets
- Support the team’s yearly roadmap, production budget, and vendor relationships
