About the Role:
A new vacancy has arisen for a CNC Machinist / Programmer working within the Main Machine Shop on the Early / Late shift.
Reporting to a Machine Shop Team Leader, the CNC Machinist / Programmer will be responsible for setting and operating 5-axis machining centres, whilst using NX CAM to create CNC programmes alongside our dedicated CAM Programmers to troubleshoot and optimise CNC code, to produce precision machined components for our F1 race car and customer programmes.
Key Accountabilities (Duties):
Setting and operating 5-axis machining centres to achieve maximum efficiency and the highest quality standards for the manufacture of precision engineered metallic components.
Use of Siemens NX CAM software to create CNC programmes alongside our dedicated CAM Programmers for high complexity components, with a focus on CNC code optimisation and troubleshooting.
Maximising throughput and overall machine tool efficiency.
Ensuring that appropriate process and procedures are adhered to throughout manufacture in order to maintain high quality.
Dynamic and capable meeting challenging deadlines within a fast paced environment.
Providing clear, effective communication across all shifts.
Must possess a continuous improvement mind-set and be able to create a positive profile for themselves and the department.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Having served a recognised apprenticeship and holding the relevant qualifications, the successful candidate will have a background in setting and operating 5 axis machine tools, Matsuura or Mazak being advantageous, with experience of using CAM software, for the manufacture of precision components within a quality focussed, fast paced environment.
You will possess effective communication skills and will have the ability to remain focused and objective under pressure. You will be able to demonstrate a process mind-set with the capability for logically solving complex problems. Resilient and professional with a belief in the concept of Continuous Improvement. Energetic with a strong work ethic and customer focus.
Flexibility in hours and a can-do approach is required, along with the ability to work in a team, under pressure and to strict deadlines with minimum supervision.
