This role supports the maintenance of High Pressure Die Cast Dies. This includes the support of other Die Service Technicians, Staff and Team Leaders, and working with Production and Engineering teams to improve die maintenance and part quality characteristics.
What you'll do
This position supports the maintenance of High Pressure Die Cast Dies. This includes the support of other Die Service Technicians, Staff and Team Leaders, and working with Production and Engineering teams to improve die maintenance and part quality characteristics.
- Respond to equipment emergency downtime, troubleshooting for root cause and repair as needed
- Support weekend preventive maintenance and repair activity when needed
- Support plant shut down activity
- Support over time coverage when needed
- Support of the engineering group in short / long term projects
- Support root cause and countermeasure activity
- Document all die related activity in the equipment system (Maximo)
- Support training of other die service and other associates where needed
- Support of the engineering group in short and / long term projects
What you need
- Minimum Experience: Preferred 2 years in the mechanical and/or die mold maintenance field – Co Op acceptable
- Other Job-Specific Skills: Welding, Machining, Hand Finishing, Blueprint Reading
- Basic computer skills
- Strong decision-making skills and trouble shooting skills
