POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Assistant oversees the organization, ingest, and cataloging of all footage for Penske Entertainment projects. Fulfilling footage requests & licensing for internal and external clients is a key part of this position. The Production Assistant will also be assigned edits as needed depending on skill level.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assist editors and producers in production of video assets for internal and external clients.
- Ingest and catalog video assets within the AVID shared storage environment.
- Maintain database of physical media assets, including tapes, discs, hard drives, and file-based storage.
- Ability to edit using AVID Media Composer.
- Requires schedule flexibility. We are an event driven business and supporting those events requires some nights & weekends.
- Additional duties assigned by Penske Entertainment leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education
- BS/BA in Media Production or a related field
Skills/Experience
- Proficient AVID Media Composer or can transition quickly from another platform.
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge and understanding of video production and delivery
- Ability to work individually and manage multiple production timelines and schedules
- Desire to grow within Penske Entertainment and increase capacity as a media production professional.
- Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency.
- Ability to uphold and consistently demonstrate the Penske Entertainment Standards.
Travel/Work Hours/Flexibility
- General office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Longer hours and weekends required for the Month of May and other major racing events
- The position requires flexibility due to being an event driven business. More than likely required to work extended hours, nights, and weekends.
- Minimal travel will be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- At times, the position must help in lifting equipment on field shoots and in studio. Most work requires normal physical effort.
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
