POSITION SUMMARY:
The Photo Retail Manager plays a leading role in the administration and operations of the IMS photo storefront. This includes management of all retail locations, inventory, and customer-facing monetization of photographic assets. Much of the role involves prioritizing a top-notch customer experience, both in-person and digitally. The Photo Retail Manager is expected to effectively direct a part-time staff and take strategic initiative to deliver on department goals and revenue targets.
This individual also plays a key role in the photo licensing process, often fulfilling requests and acting as a liaison with clients. In addition, this individual assists with the archiving of Penske Entertainment historical imagery.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Deliver a positive, friendly, and easy selling environment for IMS Official Trackside Photo Shop.
- Supervise part-time staff and maintain enhanced workforce plan for key event windows.
- Analyze customer data and industry trends, developing a plan to increase sales opportunities and relevancy of storefront.
- Greet customers and service needs via the storefront at both the INDYCAR offices and the IMS temporary storefront.
- Accurate placement of orders to Photo Developer and shipment to customers.
- Maintain inventory, merchandise placement, and accurate counts.
- Assist in annual inventory.
- Reach sales targets and increase profits.
- Oversee stock control, receive and review orders.
- Organize special promotions, displays and events.
- Ensure standards of quality and customer service are met.
- Via direction of Photo Operations Manager and Photo Archivist, assist with scanning of incoming and historic imagery.
- Via direction of Marketing & Retail teams, assist with the fulfillment of licensing requests.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee part-time/seasonal retail staff.
Education
- High school graduate or GED with equivalent experience: in an equivalent company preferred.
Skills/Experience
- 2 years minimum experience in retail sales, preferably in a management role.
- Ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks and perform multiple responsibilities efficiently and accurately at the same time.
- Moderate photoshop skills and knowledge are not required, but helpful.
- Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency.
- Ability to uphold and consistently demonstrate the Penske Entertainment Standards.
Travel/Work Hours/Flexibility
- General office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
- Longer hours and weekends required for the Month of May and other major racing events.
- No travel, however, this position requires working some weekend and evening hours based upon business needs. Flexibility and adaptability are key skills needed for this role.

- Any work outdoors requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and other conditions.

- Incumbent may be faced with frequent interruptions and required to meet with others on a regular basis.
