POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides a vital role for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and will be responsible for selling individual tickets to the INDYCAR Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, Brickyard Weekend and any other ticket-related event.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Make up to 400 calls a week. Extensive phone work including incoming, outgoing and follow-up calls to new potential leads and former ticket customers.
- Generate revenue and drive attendance for IMS events including INDYCAR Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard Weekend to reach individual sales goals and contribute to team goals.
- Exhibit clear understanding and communication of IMS facility, events and processes to both external and internal customers.
- Compliance with proven phone presentations and group sales approach.
- Ability to be flexible.
- Accurately operate IMS computer ticket system (SCORE) to process daily ticket orders and payments for packaging and fulfillment of all event tickets.
- Ability to effectively operate IMS CRM software (Microsoft Dynamics) to manage and maintain customer lead data.
- Handle cash, check and credit card payments responsibly and accurately.
- Operate and maintain remote ticket locations during event times as assigned.

- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides knowledge and abilities necessary to perform this position.
Skills/Experience
- As a key member of the Group Ticket Sales Team, the candidate must continually demonstrate teamwork, integrity, a GREAT attitude and tremendous work ethic.
- The candidate must be a self-starter, professional, organized, creative, innovative, open-minded and self-motivated.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
- Must be creative, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Travel/Work Hours
- No travel.
- General office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidate must be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays including Memorial Day weekend. Flexibility and adaptability are key skills needed for this role.
