DLMP SUMMARY:
Penske Entertainment's Diverse Leadership in Motorsports Program (DLMP) is dedicated to providing unique and enriching opportunities to ethnically and/or racially diverse college students who hope to secure full-time employment in the sports and entertainment industries after graduation.
DLMP interns will be a part of the broader College Program, working and learning as members of their respective departments to receive valuable hands-on experience within those fields while receiving ongoing access to programming designed to support a well-rounded experience.
Participants will develop both their personal and professional skills by forming meaningful relationships with experienced professionals, working collaboratively with their cohort, and expanding their knowledge of the Indianapolis community while serving as ambassadors of Penske Entertainment.
In addition, DLMP interns specifically, will engage in a variety of activities focused on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. This enhanced programming includes time with various leaders in the broader Indiana sports community to learn about their organizations, their DEI efforts and feedback on the skills and experiences that sports, and entertainment organizations are looking for.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of the Sr. Credentials Manager, Credentials Interns share responsibility for the implementation of credential plans for the Month of May, including the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge,) Brickyard Weekend , and other events taking place at IMS during the period of employment. This position will work alongside others to create positive and memorable experiences for all customers by providing excellent service. The Credentials Intern is a part of the College Program and is eligible for all relevant programming and experiences.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain outstanding working relationships
- Deliver a positive first impression for IMS guests whether in person, over the phone, and/or via email
- Assist with the public sale of credentials for the Month of May and Brickyard Weekend
- Perform necessary organizational functions like laminating, alphabetizing, and other duties as assigned
- Prepare and distribute credentials and parking passes to internal and external stakeholders
- Undertake seasonal projects including, but not limited to, media releases, vendor credentials, internal requests, and golf cart permits
- Respond and communicate to credential requests and inquiries daily; provide guidance, analysis, and solutions, as needed
- Educate customers about the different benefits and levels of access provided by various credentials
- Collaborate with the Client Services team to ensure premium clients have the proper credential assets for events
- Assist with the design and creation of credential access boards
- Assist with fulfilling credentials and parking passes for IMS vending/display clients
- Become proficient in the IMS point of sale software (SCORE)
- Serve as an IMS brand ambassador and show enthusiasm for Penske Entertainment and our vision, mission, and values
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Education
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (Business, Hospitality Management, or Sport Management preferred)

Travel/Work Hours
- Minimal travel to career/job fairs to help recruit other IMS seasonal staff is possible
- Begins in mid-to-late January and concludes in August (must be available for all events during this time)
- Requires a minimum of 12 hours per week during the Spring semester until the season ramps up at the end of April
- Works a minimum of 40 hours per week including weekends during May and Brickyard Weekend (late July)
