In ERS Quality Engineering we work collaboratively across the rest of the business to enable a rapid pace of development by creating a dynamic and responsive external supply chain that is at the cutting edge of engineering technology around the Energy Recovery System within the Formula 1 Power Unit. The team is responsible for ensuring that quality parts are delivered from our external suppliers on time, to specification and in the required quantities to meet the business’ evolving needs.
As a team we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Graduates with a scheme which will provide exposure to Formula 1. In addition to this, we are also leading the transfer of state-of-the-art Formula 1 technology into a number of automotive related projects where the focus is in electrification and hybridisation. To do this you will:
Drive quality into products and processes across the supply chain to ensure products are to specification and meet our reliability criteria Provide manufacturing expertise when working closely with Product Engineering and Purchasing to identify and select the most capable and efficient suppliers Support Engineering, Purchasing and external suppliers to resolve technical engineering challenges in manufacturing and actively lead supplier process development activities Understand the function of complex electronic assemblies and assure part conformance to drawings, specifications and requirements Determine supplier capability and capacity, and provide technical support to achieve supplier readiness Champion production and assembly process improvements with suppliers to optimise their technical capability to manufacture to our requirements Ensure alignment to programme deliverables to support on-time, component delivery dates

What do we need from you?
A curious, tenacious and driven individual with a hunger to work in a fast-paced environment A 2.1 degree, or above, in a relevant Electrical/Electronic Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics degree. A strong academic background in relevant A-Level, or equivalent disciplines, for example Maths or Sciences. A strong understanding of engineering first principles. An excellent fault diagnostic & practical failure mode analysis skills and experience in collecting and understanding complex measurement data, as well as data visualization and presentation. An understanding of energy storage systems, battery cell technology, and hybrid/electric powertrains would be desirable. Practical, “hands-on” experience to complement your academic studies (Formula Student, internships, placements, part time jobs, hobbies and personal projects) Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex problems in a simple way. Attention to detail Self-motivation, adaptability, creativity and problem solving The courage to challenge and desire to be challenged, to expand your technical knowledge and skills.
