Hendrick Technical Solutions is growing its presence in the defense industry with a focus on advanced ground vehicle development. We’re looking for a second shift (Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12:30am) welder / fabricator to join our team and work on impactful, hands-on projects that strengthen national security.
Summary: Assemble chassis as ordered to-specification via the build sheet. Must be capable of fabricating chassis and chassis related parts with moderate direction, guidance, or assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Consistently and precisely weld steel and aluminum components and framework.
- Responsible for helping with designing and reworking fixtures and jigs to aid in quality repeatability and designing patterns to aid in product manufacturability.
- Create, maintain, and label patterns, fixtures, and jigs to aid in cross training and allowing for inter-departmental assistance.
- Assist with evaluation of parts disposition and prioritization of build schedule.
- Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Perform tests using micrometers, scales, squares, height gauge, calipers, measuring tape, and Rockwell hardness tester.

Education/Experience:
- Requires basic knowledge of tools and equipment, including band saw, drill press, sand blaster, rotex punch, cold saw, acetylene torch, and hydraulic punch.
- Requires demonstrated MIG and TIG welding skills.
- Experience with Romer arm is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel certification is preferred.
- AWS D1.3 Structural Welding Code – Sheet Steel certification is preferred.
