The Design Engineer is responsible for creating and managing design documentation for components and assemblies in powertrain systems. This involves developing 3D models, 2D drawings, and ensuring the manufacturability and quality of designs.
Key responsibilities include: Creating 3D models for components and assemblies according to project-related design and CAD guidelines Developing 2D-CAD drawings for manufacturing based on valid standards and latest production technologies Continuous data quality and plausibility checks, and data exchange with internal departments and external partners Regular design checks to ensure compliance with package boundaries, assembly processes, and manufacturability Maintenance and updating of component documentation in the AVL-PDM System and AVL Powertrain Database Support for lead engineers and project managers during project execution Technical support for resident engineers Assistance in creating documentation for training, knowledge management, and patents Support for AVL internal part procurement through information exchange with customers and suppliers
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, and practical work experience in the design of powertrain and/or vehicle components. Proficiency in handling 3D CAD systems such as Catia and/or Creo is also required.
