What to Expect
The PLM Senior Delivery Engineer plays a critical role in the design, configuration, and deployment of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions across the enterprise. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership in solution delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement. The Senior Engineer works closely with architects, business stakeholders, and delivery leads to ensure scalable, high-quality PLM implementations that align with strategic objectives.
What You'll Do
– Lead the technical delivery of complex PLM solutions and enhancements (e.g., advanced workflows, integrations, data models).– Translate high-level business and functional requirements into scalable technical designs.– Mentor and guide junior delivery engineers, ensuring consistency and quality in delivery.– Collaborate with PLM architects, analysts, and business users to validate and refine solutions.– Own configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support for critical PLM capabilities.– Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance standards.– Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution design, test plans, and deployment guides.– Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and innovation in PLM delivery processes.
What You'll Bring
Business Knowledge:Band: Choose an item. cars.mclaren.comVersion 1.0– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.– 5+ years of experience in PLM delivery, with proven leadership in technical solutioning.– Deep expertise in PLM platforms (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault Enovia, Aras).– Experience in delivering enterprise-grade PLM implementations and enhancements.Essential Functional / Technical Skills:– Advanced configuration skills (e.g., Item/BOM structures, workflows, access controls, integrations).– Strong understanding of deployment practices, versioning, and release management.– Experience with scripting, automation, and PLM APIs.– Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Personal Attributes / Competencies:– Technical Leadership – Guides and supports engineering teams, ensuring delivery excellence.– Strategic Problem Solver – Balances technical depth with business context to deliver impactful solutions.– Quality-Focused – Champions robust testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.– Resilient and Proactive – Anticipates challenges and drives resolution with minimal supervision
