What to Expect
As Finance Transformation Manager, you will report to the Head of Finance Transformation and play a key role in delivering strategic change across the finance function. You will be responsible for managing transformation initiatives that improve the efficiency, scalability, and impact of finance operations, with a particular focus on digitalisation, process optimisation, and integration across the newly combined McLaren Group. This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will work closely with finance leaders, operational teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the evolution of the finance operating model. You will help identify opportunities to leverage technology and new delivery models, ensuring transformation priorities are aligned with the long-term goals of the finance function and the wider Group.
What You'll Do
Support the execution of the finance transformation strategy, working closely with the Head of Finance Transformation to deliver initiatives that align with the Group’s strategic priorities and the evolving needs of the finance function. Lead the delivery of specific transformation projects, including process redesign, automation, system enhancements, and data optimisation. Ensure projects are scoped effectively, delivered on time, and achieve measurable improvements in efficiency, control, and insight. Contribute to integration activities across the newly combined McLaren Group, supporting the harmonisation of finance processes, systems, and reporting structures, working cross-functionally to ensure consistency and scalability of finance operations. Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement, including emerging technologies, digital tools, and best practices that can enhance finance capabilities. Provide recommendations and support business cases for investment in new solutions. Manage and develop a Senior Finance Transformation Analyst, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the transformation team. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, across Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Operations, and other business areas to ensure alignment and buy-in for transformation initiatives. Facilitate workshops, working groups, and steering committees as needed to drive progress and resolve issues. Support the redesign of finance processes and operating models, ensuring they are fit for purpose, optimised, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Assist in documenting current and future state processes, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements. Contribute to change management and communication efforts, helping to build awareness, understanding, and adoption of new ways of working. Support the development of training materials, stakeholder communications, and feedback mechanisms. Monitor and report on project progress, risks, dependencies, and benefits realisation. Ensure appropriate governance is in place and that transformation activities are tracked and communicated effectively to senior stakeholders. Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the exploration of new ideas, technologies, and delivery models that can enhance performance and value creation.
What You'll Bring
Experience in finance transformation, process improvement, or systems implementation within a finance function. Strong understanding of finance operations, systems (e.g., ERP, reporting tools), and controls. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage stakeholders at all levels. Experience in managing and developing team members. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and drive change. Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
