We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Composite Machinist to join our Pattern Shop working on a weekend shift. As a CNC Composite Machinist, you will be responsible for machining carbon fibre components, patterns, moulds, jigs, and other precision parts using state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machinery. Key Responsibilities Machine high-specification composite parts using 5-axis CNC machines and offline programs.
Machine patterns, moulds, jigs, and tooling to meet tight tolerances and design specifications.
Use engineering drawings to verify accuracy and communicate discrepancies before part removal.
Monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery, escalating issues promptly.
Maintain machines, tooling, and workstations to avoid downtime and maximise performance.
Collaborate with CNC Programmers to refine machining processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Prepare raw material stock and support related departments as needed.
Actively contribute to continuous improvement and team performance targets.
Support car build schedules with flexibility and professionalism. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Proven experience in composite machining using 5-axis CNC equipment.
Possess an excellent understanding of composite machining methods and requirements for achieving required tolerances on machined components.
Working knowledge of CNC programming principles and machining best practices.
Experience with carbon fibre, Rohacell, and associated composite materials.
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and apply practical solutions.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
