We're seeking a motivated and hands-on technician to support the build, maintenance, and operation of test rigs and equipment within the Test & Development (T&D) department. You'll play a key role across various functional areas of the T&D workshop, contributing to a wide range of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
To work with your relevant Test Engineers, T&D Design Engineers and the Project Engineers to understand the requirements of rig build and operation work assigned to you.
To use and update the job list, deadlines and deliverables for your test work to ensure that all objectives and test requirements are met on time.
To understand assembly drawings and the nature of the car components to ensure correct assembly.
To understand responsibilities within the function area and of the wider group.
To provide feedback and suggestions for the design of new equipment and test rigs.
To suggest improvements for methods for capturing data.
To assist with strategic improvements in test methods, instrumentation and processes to improve test efficiency and data quality.
To regularly feedback progress on your work to your Lead Engineer and Test Manager, confirming successful completions and highlighting risk areas or concerns as early as possible.
To attend and participate in meetings as required.
To contribute to the creation of workshop documentation in the form of processes, risk assessments and new starter guides.
To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain thorough and current working knowledge of test and development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Previous experience in a similar role in a motorsport environment
Ideally demonstrate an understanding of sensors and data acquisition
Ability to demonstrate creative, flexible and innovative solutions to problems.
Possess a strong focus and be able to accept challenges from colleagues.
Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a changing environment.
