Team Penske is one of the most successful teams in the history of professional sports. Competing in a variety of disciplines, cars owned and prepared by Team Penske have produced 640 major race wins, nearly 700 pole positions, and 47 championships in its 59-year history. Over the course of its 59-year history, the team has also earned 20 Indianapolis 500 victories, 3 Daytona 500 Championships, a Formula 1 win, victories in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, along with a win in Australia's legendary Bathurst 1000 race. In 2025, Team Penske will compete in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the NASCAR Cup Series. Through a Team Penske global partnership, Porsche Penske Motorsport will race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the World Endurance Championship this past season.
The Marketing team at Team Penske is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of over 40 corporate partner relationships, including several Fortune 100 and 500 companies, operating in a variety of business categories. The Events Coordinator position is a supportive role for the Partnership Marketing team, serving the extensive group of partners associated with Team Penske’s NASCAR Cup, NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and Porsche Penske Motorsport race teams.
The Events Coordinator is responsible for managing many of the day-to-day tasks to support the Marketing department. These include leading the planning and execution of on-site and off-site events (both internal for Team Penske, and external for Team Penske partners).
Responsibilities:
•Plan, coordinate, and execute on-site and off-site events, including partner-led events, marketing summits, in-market events (at and away from the racetrack), employee events, and facility tours.
•Work to provide Team Penske network of partners with the highest levels of customer service and support.
•Assist in the development, execution, and measurement of partner marketing initiatives and programs. Analyze progress and results to further develop best practices. Create event/program recaps for internal review.
•Maintain and manage relationships with vendors for event support services.
•Manage status reports and maintain inventory tracking documents for various needs (at the racetrack, for events, etc.).
•Assist in the coordination and tracking of show car requests
•Work closely within the broader Marketing team on strategy, scheduling and logistics, creative needs, and other department needs as assigned.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with a focus in hospitality.
•At least 3-5 years' experience in events planning and coordination; preferably in sports, entertainment, and or hospitality.
•Proven record of operating with the highest level of integrity.
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
•History of exhibiting exceptional level of organization and attention to detail.
•Service oriented with a focus on partner needs and ability to improvise as needed.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
•Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed.
•Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and event management software is a plus.
•Ability to work weekends and travel to races, as needed, to support partnerships marketing efforts.
•Experience of planning and executing events with an attendance of 500+ attendees.
•Experience and expertise in performing excellent level of hospitality related tasks, including planning and follow-up.
