DLMP SUMMARY:
Penske Entertainment's Diverse Leadership in Motorsports Program (DLMP) is dedicated to providing unique and enriching opportunities to ethnically and/or racially diverse college students who hope to secure full-time employment in the sports and entertainment industries after graduation.
DLMP interns will be a part of the broader College Program, working and learning as members of their respective departments to receive valuable hands-on experience within those fields while receiving ongoing access to programming designed to support a well-rounded experience.
Participants will develop both their personal and professional skills by forming meaningful relationships with experienced professionals, working collaboratively with their cohort, and expanding their knowledge of the Indianapolis community while serving as ambassadors of Penske Entertainment.
In addition, DLMP interns specifically, will engage in a variety of activities focused on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. This enhanced programming includes time with various leaders in the broader Indiana sports community to learn about their organizations, their DEI efforts and feedback on the skills and experiences that sports, and entertainment organizations are looking for.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This technology internship will dive deeply into INDYCAR Technologies including:
- Timing and Scoring
- Race Control
- I.T and Networking
- Data Acquisition and Distribution
In addition to working hand in hand with the INDYCAR Technology Team, this internship will get to experience other areas of INDYCAR by shadowing staff in the following areas:
- Operations
- Engineering
- Track Safety and Medical
- Transportation
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Duties will be assigned per each event to match the area the intern will be working each event.
- Special projects will be assigned to be completed by the end of the internship.

Education
- Must be a current student with at least one year of college completed. Technology education preferred.
Skills/Experience
- Science, math, and any technology studies (STEM) during high school/college.
- Volunteer experience during high school/college related to technology or racing.
- Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency.
- Ability to uphold and consistently demonstrate the Penske Entertainment Standards.
Travel/Work Hour/Flexibility
- General office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
- Travel to INDYCAR race events which requires longer hours and weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be capable of walking 10000+ steps during each event.
- Must be able to drive both gas and electric powered utility carts.
