We are looking for a passionate Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our Performance Simulation Team to deliver continuous improvement of vehicle models and simulation tools.
This role would be ideal for an exceptional candidate who has recently graduated and/or has experience within a similar discipline. The successful candidate will develop and maintain simulation tools within the scope of the Vehicle Dynamics Group.
As a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, you will contribute to the team’s success by:
- Supporting the Performance Simulation Team Leader in the creation of the Team strategy.
- Understanding and quantifying all performance factors, including driver interaction.
- Parameterising the vehicle models (e.g. from track, rig, simulator, etc.) to ensure good correlation.
- Supporting the management & running of relevant rig testing + data analysis (Multi post rig, kinematics and compliance, CoG/ inertia).
- Identifying and developing performance effects of car design concepts and evaluating design or setup changes.
- Optimising design specifications and supporting track setup decision-making.
- Development and maintenance of the Performance Simulation Code Library and Inference toolset.
As a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, you will have:
- Excellent technical ability, with a strong degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Great organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Self-motivation, innovative ideas and will enjoy new challenges/problem-solving tasks.
- A collaborative attitude with good teamworking ability.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Willing to work extra hours to meet important deadlines.
- Willing to work unsociable hours at times during event support (typically event weekend Fridays only).
Our ideal candidate will also have experience in some of the following:
- General Vehicle Dynamics knowledge & race car engineering.
- Development of models, simulations, and optimisation tools.
- Use of high-level modelling and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python and C/C++.
