About the Department:
As the IT Service Delivery team at Williams Racing, we are responsible for ensuring that all IT services are delivered effectively, reliably, and securely across the organization. Our department plays a critical role in supporting the technological infrastructure that underpins every aspect of the team's operations, from race strategy and vehicle design to on-track performance.
Role Overview:
As a Service Delivery Industrial Placement, you will be at the heart of our IT team, where you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all IT services are delivered effectively, reliably, and securely across the organisation. This role is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart a career in IT, providing a solid foundation in service management while allowing you to contribute meaningfully to the success of the organisation. The combination of hands-on experience, skill development, and the dynamic nature of the work—especially within the exhilarating world of Formula 1—makes it a truly exciting and unique starting point.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Service Delivery Industrial Placement at Williams, you will:
• Maintain and monitor the IT systems that enable smooth day-to-day operations, ensuring that every department, from engineering to marketing, has the tools they need to function efficiently.
• Provide and maintain the essential IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems, both at Grove and racetracks around the world.
• Responding to and managing IT incidents, ensuring they are resolved quickly to minimise impact on business operations. This includes coordinating with the relevant teams to troubleshoot and fix issues.
• Overseeing the implementation of changes to IT services, ensuring that changes are well-planned, communicated, and executed with minimal disruption.
• Preparing and presenting service delivery reports to management, highlighting key metrics such as uptime, response times, and user satisfaction.
• Gathering feedback from users on IT services and identifying areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Pursuing a career in IT support or management.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• Currently pursuing a degree in IT or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with non-technical stakeholders, explaining technical issues in a clear and understandable way.
• A strong focus on understanding and meeting the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring high levels of service satisfaction.
• Skilled in generating and analysing service performance reports, providing insights and recommendations for service improvement.
• A solid understanding of IT systems, networks, and software, including how they interact and support business operations.
