We are currently looking for an Operations Planner to join our Production team here at Williams Racing. This is an exciting opportunity, and in this role, you will be responsible and accountable for the part delivery from design release to OTIF component delivery.
As an Operations Planner, your key responsibilities will be:
- Scheduling works orders in line with daily capacity to aid make versus buy decision.
- To provide knowledge and insight on anticipated component and assembly lead times, working closely with key stakeholders to provide information back to Planning teams.
- Manage a portfolio of works orders, ensuring BOM dependencies and tooling requirements are fulfilled.
- To generate accurate work orders (from pre templated routing created by the methods engineers), revision and BOM. Maintaining accurate delivery dates.
- Managing work progress through the factory.
- Ensure parts are moved swiftly through production and NCR’s are delt with in a timely manner.
- Accountable for delivery and tracking components throughout the factory.
- Make sure all sub-components required to execute top level BOM work orders are available for the manufacturing lines to execute the work.
- Work closely with different internal customers/stakeholders, ensuring efficient communication, and commitment to delivery dates.
- Work closely with the Programme Managers and the Top Level Quantities document to ensure work orders are raised to meet required part quantities for the relevant target events.
- Work closely with the Production Schedulers to ensure that work lists generated for the departments are based on accurate priorities and delivery dates.
- Work with the Procurement team to expedite delivery of required work orders (in line with the schedule).
- Aid with the raising of repair WO’s during the triage of Class 5 parts.
We are looking for an Operations Planner with the following experience and skills:
- Ideally degree qualified (MEng in Manufacturing/Production Engineering preferred) or have a technical background and experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Proven experience with project management, and ownership of delivering end-to-end projects.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work to tight deadlines and short lead times in a small volume manufacturing environment making complex high quality and value components would be a significant advantage.
- Sound knowledge of modern manufacturing processes and understanding of engineering.
- Excellent Communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent attention to details and a can-do attitude.
- Willingness to be flexible around working hours.
