WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an IT Operations Intern, you will provide users with telephone and in-person technical support for PC hardware and software applications, networking issues, and remote access. You will also work throughout the Indianapolis Motor Speedway facility to support TCP/IP networks, ticket operations, etc.
In this role, you’ll be an important part of delivering top-tier experiences to fans, partners, and teams across the motorsports world. You’ll take ownership of key responsibilities, collaborate across departments, and bring energy and innovation to a fast-paced environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the initial contact point for user issues by answering the IT Helpdesk phone and creating a ticket in the Helpdesk ticketing system.
- Assist users in resolving their issue.
- Work with the IT Operations team to troubleshoot and solve applications, network, and other problems.
- Assist IT Operations Team with temporary network deployments and other event setup tasks.
- Assist IT Operations Team with troubleshooting and staffing during track events.
- Complete special projects assigned by IT management.

Required Experience & Skills:
- Experience using and supporting Microsoft desktop products, Office 365, etc.
- Knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware and software
- Basic understanding of cloud-based technologies
- Experience in a role that directly interacts with multiple people on a daily basis
- Technically minded and able to solve basic computer and software issues
- A proactive, flexible mindset and commitment to excellence
- Cultural competence and the ability to thrive in a diverse environment

Education:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in IT or related field
Leadership:
- This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities
FLEXIBILITY & TRAVEL
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a fully onsite role with no remote work options available.
- Extended hours required during race weekends and key event periods (especially May)
- No travel required
- Our teams work together to create flexibility that supports life in and out of work
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
- Comfort working indoors/outdoors and around event noise
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Employees will be exposed to those conditions normally encountered in a business office environment.
- Fast-paced, collaborative office and event settings
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud, due to professional racing events.
