In the Connected Vehicle Experience Research lab, we transform the mobility experience by creating integrated solutions for safe and connected vehicles that our customers love. We are looking for R&D Interns to research, design, and develop groundbreaking technologies in safety and crashworthiness. In this internship, you will plan and execute collaborative research to generate new knowledge and sophisticated technology for our vehicles. What You Will Do:
- Develop an in-vehicle user interface for automated driving-enabled vehicles
- Conduct user studies to enable evidence-based decisions about in-vehicle interfaces
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship required to comply with federal government contract provision expressly restricting role to U.S. citizens
- Must be a current PhD student or second year master’s student in engineering or science
- Research experience in at least one of the following areas: Autonomous Vehicle Technology, Connected Vehicles, Advanced Wireless Technology, Cloud/Edge Compute Solutions, Zero Barrier Mobility/Accessibility, User Experience, Displays, HMI, Simulation, or other related areas
- Strong theoretical, experimental or software programming skills
What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2 robotics framework
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus communication
- Hands-on experience with wireless communication using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
- Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities, or service organizations
