Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. What you need? The mindset of an athlete. Your mission
Be an integral part of a team of engineers and data scientists to develop, create and improve software for efficient aerodynamic analysisDesign and implementation of web frontends and dashboards to present data from different sources, with a focus on CFD dataContribute to the redesign and optimisation of the backend used to process and serve CFD dataContribute to the design and implementation of efficient workflows for CFD post-processingHelp develop data science capabilities within the Aero departmentWork closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve the ease of understanding complex data.Contribute to set future directions and trends in data analysis and data visualizationWork on the look and feel of the user interface in terms of presentation and interaction with the data from a wide range of engineering data sourcesDesign and produce high performance and well-designed data access tools and APIs to be used by other existing systemsDesign, code, test, release, and maintenance of data analysis applicationsStay updated with the latest advancements and developments in software design and data science
Your profile
Master’s degree in Computer Science or MathematicsAt least 3 years’ professional experience as software developerExperience with data organisation and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologiesWorked on complex projectsExperience with scientific data visualization, especially 3D data, is an advantageExperience with AI and Machine Learning is an advantageProven programming skills and a strong knowledge of PythonFamiliarity with working in a Linux environmentSoftware release, update and deployment techniquesStrong knowledge of web technologies (e.g. Django, React, Next.js, WebGL, Node.js)Fundamentals of VTK, ParaView or PyVistaKnowledge of containerized development and deployment (docker, Kubernetes an advantage)Familiarity with HPC environment an advantageData science techniques and methodologies is an advantageAnalytical approach, hardworking, independent and reliableProactive interaction with leaders and colleagues and promote team spirit, while also being self-motivating, responsible and meticulousFlexible and open to changePromote a continuous learning culture within the team
