This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Ramos Arizpe- Coahuila three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business
The role
This is for a Finance Product Cost & Inventory role under the GBS organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for month-end closing activities, including calculating for Product Cost & Inventory accounts, posting manual journals, preparing reports, ensuring that processing is done with high quality – accurate, timely and complete. Work closely with various business contacts to align and resolve business requirements. Additionally, the role requires adherence to GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements, serving as the main point of contact for internal and external audits. The analyst identifies and drives resolution for accounting or control-related issues within their area and leads process improvements and innovations to streamline existing process.
What You'll Do
- Manual Journal entries for closing period
- Monthly account reconciliations, analysis and variance explanations
- Provide accurate, timely and reliable reporting and controls
- Administration of Key performance indicators
- Ensures compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements
- Support audit reviews (internal and external)
- Solve problems and develop new methods of analysis to streamline decision-making
- Expected to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through the implementation of innovative solutions based on automation tools
- Skilled in data analytics to optimize processes and enhance visualization.
- Participation in Special Projects as needed
- Maintain and apply knowledge of accounting standards and developments that affect the business/country.
- Interacts with internal/external related parties (impacted Business Units, Global Controller’s Team, Global Finance Teams, External Auditors, etc.)
- Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, administration or related experience.
- Relevant work experience in accounting/finance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Big data analysis
- Data technical capabilities
- English proficiency oral and written
- Skills in tools such as PowerBI, Data visualization, Office expertise.
- Excel knowledge (intermediate/advanced)
