Work Arrangement
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role
The Paint Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating activities within the department to ensure optimal performance of current and future events. This role ensures optimal resource utilization, material availability, and process efficiency to meet production targets while maintaining high quality and compliance standards. This role champions the strategic planning and organization of the department groups. The Paint Planner must be able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Innovation is a must as well as independent judgment organizational and follow-up skills. Work is performed with hourly and salaried employees and 3rd party support organizations.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Safety, Compliance, & Contract Adherence:
- ·Promote safe work practices, ergonomics, Workplace Organization and housekeeping objectives.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with safety regulations and GM standards.
- Support vacations, audits, inspections and other departmental activities and initiatives through scheduling and suggested resources allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of past and future events, including lessons learned, to drive continuous improvement.
- Use GM's processes and tools to improve operational efficiency.
Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain schedules for department meetings, both tactical and strategical.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track department performance and operational efficiency. Communicate performance metrics and business strategy to leadership.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and 3rd party organizations to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reporting.
- Participate in daily production meetings and communicate planning updates.
- Support new model launches and process changes.
- Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Provide detailed feedback to department process champions.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft tools suite and data visualization tools
· Able to work as part of an innovative team
· Lean manufacturing experience

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
