Work Arrangement

The Role
The Paint Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of highly automated manufacturing equipment. The Maintenance Planner supports production uptime, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced automotive assembly environment. This role champions the spare parts process to include reviews and procurement, and also supports project activities. The Maintenance Planner must be able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Innovation is a must as well as independent judgment. Work is performed with hourly and salaried employees and 3rd party support organizations.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Compliance, Safety & Asset Management:
- Promote & enforce safe work practices, ergonomics, WPO and housekeeping objectives.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and GM standards.
- Support audits and inspections related to equipment maintenance and safety.
- Support vacation coverage.
- Maintain accurate records: equipment history, maintenance logs, & spare parts inventory.
- Use GM's CMMS to track work orders & equipment performance, monitor and analyze equipment reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR) to identify improvement opportunities.
Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for robotics, conveyors, PLCs, vision systems, and other automated equipment.
- Create detailed work orders with required parts, tools, labor, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize downtime,
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track equipment performance and operational efficiency. Communicate performance metrics and business strategy to leadership.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and 3rd party organizations to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical direction on equipment efficiency strategies.
- Provide detailed feedback to central process champions.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and strategies plant wide with peers.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM), Power BI, AI Tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, especially relating to scheduling, planning, equipment operational efficiency.
- Effective cross-functional communication, including coordination with production, maintenance.

- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field

- Proficiency in Microsoft tools suite and data visualization tools

- Familiarity with automated systems including robotics, PLCs, and HMI interfaces
- Lean manufacturing experience
