Description:
- As Controls Engineering Co-op you will receive a well-rounded experience in controls engineering, exposing you to various aspects of system improvement, project support, and digitalization efforts. Your dedication and commitment will play a crucial role in enhancing our products and processes.
- Key objectives include working on projects to improve energy reduction, equipment installation and uptime, and digitalization projects.
The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Get to know new technologies and different fields of work.
- Support in idea generation, proof of concept, process development, and best practice transfer for continuous improvement projects.
- Aides in data visualizations/ dashboard creation for all levels of Assembly management.
- Create/review technical and user documentation into a webpage as applicable.
- Setup low code app development environment and create basic app framework, test app and iterate.
- Lead assigned or self-initiated projects to that focus on process improvements.
- Provide real time support to production with issues related to new technology for series processes.
- Responsible for troubleshooting/resolution of IT incidents related to new technology.
- Support new tool installations/modifications/moves in Assembly.
- Train other production associates in proper tool use and system function.
- Lead or assist in line trials for new use cases.
- Communicate or present accomplishments and achievements at the end of each semester
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Computer) or Computer Science degree with a strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of electronics, C, C++, Java, VBA, or PLC programming strongly desired
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Detail-oriented
- Organized
- Effective communication skills
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- The work term dates are January 12th - May 15th, 2026.
