The HR Service Center/Payroll Intern will experience the entire HR landscape by participating in process improvement, contributing to all activities in the HR Service Center, supporting Plant Spartanburg associate payroll per agreed upon deadlines and quality standards.
The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Support new hire orientations and new hire meetings and ensures the entry paperwork is completed accurately, timely and within Federal regulations.
- Lead process improvement activities.
- Complete data analysis and create data visualizations and dashboards utilizing PowerBi.
- Gather documentation from new Associates and follow-up for missing information.
- Support Plant Spartanburg’s service anniversary award program.
- Conduct new hire and payroll audits.
- Support of Employee Self-Service portal and mobile app.
- Enter and process data for domestic and international associate payments including expense reimbursements, gross-ups, and salary calculations.
- Run reports and prepare data for audits, plant-wide reporting, and legal requests.
- Enter compensation data relevant to Accounting cross charge process.
- Provide prompt customer service to Associates with general HR inquiries, payroll questions, and payroll-related policy questions.
- Assist with Global Compensation Project.
- Review and update process documentation.
- Complete all tasks for tax vendor.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Accounting, Finance or Information Technology.
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Analytical skills.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
