Job Purpose
Channel expansion and the growth of our Mass Merchant business is the fastest and most efficient way to grow Honda’s unit sales and market share. With West Marine scheduled to begin carrying Honda products in 2025 in conjunction with Honda’s existing relationship with Sportsman’s Warehouse, Camping World and others, it is imperative that the Honda Marine Sales Department have an experienced and dedicated Assistant Manager to handle nurture and grow this business.
The National Marine Account Manager is tasked with achieving assigned sales targets within their designated territory by developing and maintaining a strong network of Honda Marine customers in the Large Retail, Internet Reseller and Warehouse Distributor customer segments. This role involves directly selling Honda outboard motors these partners and managing account relationships at all levels, from executive management to sales personnel. This role will also support National sales initiatives, represent Honda Marine at select key sales events, and oversee co-op advertising programs. Additionally, this position requires regular reporting on market and industry trends to drive wholesale goals for Honda Marine products.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
4-year degree in Marketing or Business OR equivalent work experience
Minimum Experience
5+ years of Marine Industry experience.
Expert knowledge of boats and marine equipment.
Experience in selling marine outboard engines or similar technical products is preferred.
5+ years Key Account Management Experience in Mass Merchant, Wholesale or other similar capacity
Other Job-Specific Skills
Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Honda Marine partners and internal staff.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of outboard engines and their applications on boats, including basic technical specifications and benefits.
Workstyle
Travel: Requires 60% travel to visit OEM partners, attend industry events, and support sales activities.
Physical Demands: Involves heavy lifting and manual labor at tradeshows and dealer events.
Work Schedule: Includes regular weekend work and travel to accommodate industry events and dealer meetings.
