Tasks
The Configuration Management department develops and implements efficient processes, methods, and IT tools, as well as support, reporting, and communication for configuration management and its sub-processes. These sub-processes include, among others, variant management/vehicle structure, parts lists, change and release management, CAD data management/exchange, E/E data logistics, and component conformity.
Configuration management offers more than just vehicle configuration. Specifically, this means: We provide consistent product data to vehicle projects and subsequent processes and supply development, production, and field vehicles with configuration-appropriate composites. In addition, we manage change and data management for the composite release process and component scope at Porsche and issue releases for composite releases and the entire vehicle on behalf of Development. Ensuring the material and standards conformity of our products is also our responsibility. We also define and monitor the configuration management processes and framework conditions in vehicle projects. In summary, our department is committed to centralizing uniform processes, methods, and tools in configuration management, as well as bundling operational data maintenance.

Participation in strategic configuration management projects
Support in the (further) development of processes, methods, and tools in agile configuration management projects
Support in the creation of configuration data for controlling vehicles and vehicle equipment and, in this context, conducting appropriate, IT-supported data analyses and comparisons
Participation in the creation of parts lists and product documentation
Participation in the identification and coordination of Porsche requirements in vehicle cooperation projects
Support in the preparation and implementation of cross-brand working and steering committees
