The Electric Drive Development department at Porsche focuses on the design, development, and optimization of pioneering electric drive systems for all Porsche production vehicles. Innovative technologies are being developed here to make electric drives even more powerful, efficient, and sustainable. The use of state-of-the-art test benches and simulation tools plays a key role in this. With Porsche-typical electric drive systems, we inspire our customers and are already providing answers to the question of the automotive future.
As an intern in this department at Porsche, you will gain valuable insights into the development of electric drives. You will work closely with experienced engineers and take on independent tasks to support various projects. Overall, the internship offers a comprehensive and practical learning experience that strengthens your professional and personal skills and prepares you for a career in the automotive industry. During your internship, you will gain comprehensive insights into the Porsche working world and, depending on the focus of your studies and the field of your assignment, you will support us with the following activities, for example:
• Simulative design of concepts for the HV drive system and its individual components• Development and construction of components for an electric axle drive (e.g., electric motor, transmission, pulse inverter, etc.)• Development and tool-supported calibration/application of drive software in the pulse inverter (PWR, traction inverter, power electronics)• Conducting and evaluating hardware and software tests on the test bench and in the vehicle• Preparation of project documentation (e.g., presentations, schedules, etc.)
