Tasks

In the safety test benches, vehicle components and entire vehicles are tested and further developed with regard to applicable safety requirements.

The test bench plays a key role in vehicle development. Legal and internal safety requirements, as well as consumer protection requirements, are tested on prototypes here.

Within this area, you have the opportunity to gain practical experience in the following areas:

Complete vehicle crash testing Component testing (e.g., acceleration sleds, pedestrian protection, component testing, and much more) Test project planning Measurement technology Optical methods (vehicle and component measurement, calibration of high-speed video cameras, and much more) Crash test dummy technology

During your internship, you will gain in-depth knowledge of one of these areas and independently take on sub-projects. Depending on the focus of your studies, you will support us with the following tasks and activities:

Support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of test bench tests (e.g., crash test systems, pedestrian protection, acceleration sleds, and much more)

Collaboration in the further development of methods and processes

Collaboration in the development of evaluation methodologies and their integration into evaluation tools

Assistance with project-specific special test setups, including the required specialized measurement technology
