MISSION
As MEA Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving Maserati’s commercial performance across key markets in the Middle East and Africa region. You will act as the primary business partner to our importers, ensuring alignment with the company’s sales strategy and performance goals. Your mission is to maximize wholesale and retail volumes, optimize stock levels, and proactively address any deviations from the business plan. Leveraging data-driven insights and a strategic use of the Sales Support budget, you will steer local partners toward sustainable growth while embodying the values and prestige of the Maserati brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Sales Planning & Forecasting
- Develop long-term sales plans to support network development and guide investment decisions.
- Manage monthly planning activities (Production Orders, Wholesale, Factory & Dealer Stock, Retail) by model and market.
- Provide sales insights and projections to support the annual strategic planning cycle.
Field Support & Dealer Performance
- Maintain up-to-date visibility on dealer business performance, including pending deals and sales pipelines.
- Conduct regular dealer visits based on business size and performance.
- Evaluate dealer sales operations against brand standards, KPIs, and organizational structure.
- Identify operational gaps and agree on corrective action plans with local teams.
- Act as a point of contact for business-critical issues involving customers, markets, or manufacturer relationships.
- Initiate and track market-specific actions to drive sales results.
- Deploy and monitor sales processes such as the BIC program.
- Monitor dealer invoicing and payment status, intervening when delays occur.
Sales Performance Monitoring
- Track dealer performance against budget, market targets, and competition.
- Analyze sales results monthly and take corrective actions as needed.
- Align production and stock strategies with actual and forecasted performance.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate regular reports on market share, target achievement, and effectiveness of sales and marketing actions.
- Provide insights to optimize market penetration and business development efforts.
Product Feedback & Market Intelligence
- Collaborate with Product Management by relaying customer feedback on product features and performance.
- Monitor competitive landscape, including pricing strategies and market conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with importers and customers to support marketing and sales efforts, assess performance, and deliver product training.
- Represent Maserati at trade shows to support lead generation, market evaluation, and brand perception analysis.
- Contribute input to marketing and advertising strategies based on market needs and business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid academic background in Finance, Economics, or related fields (minimum Bachelor's degree).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Google G-Suite and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with MS Access or other database systems is a plus
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks
- Independent and self-driven, while being a strong team player
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in sales planning or data analysis is required
- Previous experience in the automotive industry is considered an asset
- Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time or more, based on business needs
