Description
We are looking for a Head of People & Culture to join us on a part-time basis for 3 days a week based at Silverstone.
The Head of People & Culture will play a critical role in delivering the people strategy set by the Director of People & Culture. This role will oversee the operational execution of People & Culture initiatives, ensuring that Silverstone attracts, develops and retains top talent while fostering an engaging and high-performing workplace culture.
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the Head of People & Culture will lead the P&C team in delivering best-in-class HR services, policies and processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with employment legislation. This role will also work closely with department heads to provide HR expertise and operational support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Policy Implementation:
- Collaborate with the Director of People & Culture to implement the People & Culture strategy, contributing to the achievement of overall company objectives.
- Lead the delivery of HR services, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits and HR systems.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures and best practices are consistently applied across the business in alignment with employment law and company culture.
- Drive the effective use of HR systems to streamline processes and improve data accuracy for decision-making.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for operational issues and queries, ensuring efficient resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with People & Culture team members and senior leaders, providing expert guidance and support.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs and address requirements effectively.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- Manage the headcount budget in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team, P&C Business Partners and the Finance Team.
- Oversee the recruitment and resourcing strategies, ensuring high-quality hires that align with Silverstone’s strategic workforce plan.
- Collaborate with managers to assess workforce needs, address skills gaps and develop talent pipelines.
- Support the implementation of employer branding initiatives to position Silverstone Circuits as an employer of choice.
Learning & Development:
- Work with the Director of People & Culture to implement career development and succession planning initiatives.
- Oversee the execution of learning and development programmes, ensuring employees have access to growth opportunities.
Employee Engagement & Wellbeing:
- Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture by executing engagement initiatives and well-being programmes.
- Conduct regular employee feedback surveys and work with leadership to implement action plans that enhance team engagement and retention.
Performance & Reward:
- Oversee performance management processes, ensuring they are effectively applied across the organisation.
- Support the design and execution of compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain talent.
- Work with the Payroll Manager to review and optimize team benefits. Ensure rewards and recognition programmes align with business objectives and employee expectations.
Process Optimisation & Innovation:
- Evaluate and improve systems and technology to optimize functionality, efficiency and user experience for the People & Culture team.
- Leverage technology to drive automation and foster continuous innovation.
HR Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to employment law, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies.
- Maintain HR records and reports, ensuring data security and confidentiality.
HR Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor People analytics, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HR operations effectiveness.
- Use data analytics to measure the impact of HR initiatives and refine strategies accordingly.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A Proven experience in an HR leadership or senior HR business partner role within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices and workforce planning.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop an HR team.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to inform decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in delivering HR projects and driving organisational change.
- Commercially aware with the ability to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent CIPD qualification.
