We are seeking a Communications and Account Executive to join our Marketing team, elevate our brand, support our drivers, and cultivate lasting relationships with our fans and partners.
Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing outstanding communications and marketing support to Hendrick Motorsports and the designated team and driver through developing close working relationships with journalists, media outlets and corporate partners to ensure company and sponsor needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for working closely with team sponsors to generate valuable exposure and ensure sponsorship ROI
- Schedule and execute requested sponsor appearances, production days and other contractual deliverables
- Approve advertisements, point-of-sale items and other promotional and licensing materials
- Support the development of artwork and approval processes related to team assets and other partner-centric material; ensure all brand standards, logos and other marks/elements are appropriately applied
- Work with team personnel to execute timely delivery of all materials required for team operations, including paint scheme designs and crew apparel/uniforms
- Coordinate and facilitate at-track hosting of VIP partner guests
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the communications/public relations functions for the respective team platform.
- Foster positive working relationships with members of the press and industry stakeholders.
- Respond to requests for information from the media in a professional and timely fashion; identify appropriate spokespeople and accurate information sources.
- Proactively, strategically and creatively promote, position and generate value for sponsor, driver and team through earned media, social and digital media, and other appropriate outlets.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with representatives of the community, fans/consumers, employees, and public interest groups.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
- 4+ years experience in PR or Account Management role: Required.
- Expert understanding of public relations, earned media and successfully managing sports marketing programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with journalists/media, key partners and industry stakeholders.
Attendance Expectations: Requires ability to travel extensively and the ability to work weekends. Some remote working during the racing season
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate at all levels. Demonstrated strong communication skills and the ability to work with others at various levels. Proven track record of proactively pitching media outlets and responding to inquiries/requests in a timely manner. Crisis communications expertise is a plus.
Physical Demands: Requires vision (distance, color). Frequently sits and manually manipulates. Occasionally stands, walks, reaches outward, reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to and over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
Environment Demands: Works both indoors in an office setting and outdoors during event weekends. Some work from home during the NASCAR season. When required to be at the track, may be exposed to outdoor hazards such as fumes and uneven pavement.
Verbal and Writing Ability: Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient in writing, AP Style and copyediting. Understanding of earned media measurement and analytical tools.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability: Strong planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and organize multiple priorities. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Understands media measurement and analytical tools.
