About the Role:
Chicago Performance is looking for a bright and driven individual to fill our open Race Mechanic position. This position is aimed at high experience and performing automotive mechanics. The Race Mechanic must be able to service, build and diagnose cars, ranging from homologated GT3 racecars, down to high-quality streetcars. Travel is required for this position in order to support our racing programs in both high-level club and professional level racing series.

You must be steadfast in your attention to detail, commitment to perfection, and situational adaptability. Strong candidates will have experience within the motorsport industry or similar line of work. Key Duties:
- Repair, service, build, maintain and diagnose factory-built racing cars at the highest standard possible, with the focus of mitigating any risk of failure or negligence with one goal in mind: winning.
- Repair, service, maintain and diagnose high-performance and high-quality streetcars at the highest standard possible, with the focus of mitigating any risk of failure or negligence with the goals of providing the customer with the best experience possible, achieving their performance dreams, without sacrificing reliability or drivability.
- Make performance adjustments from driver feedback, for both race and streetcar customers alike.
- Become an integral member of the team, ensuring there is a free and open communication to promote ideas and initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all Chicago Performance assets including, but not limited to: Team equipment and tools Race/pit equipment, e.g. pit carts, tuggers, etc. Race Tractor and Trailer Chicago Performance Race and Street Vehicles
- Communicate all build quality issues to appropriate key stake holders to ensure all faults are recorded.
- Responsible and accountable for delivering objectives on time, and escalating any problems identified whilst working unsupervised.
- Support and assist with other Race Team activities.
- Operate in accordance with any company Safety, Health, and Environmental guidelines.
- Constantly work towards self-improvement & development.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of high-level automotive service work history
- Professional motorsport experience preferred
- Must be able to work locally in Lombard, IL
- Must be able to travel at least once a month for several days at a time.
- Basic to moderate computer skills - Windows, Office, etc.
- May be required to stand for most of 8-hour shift
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Must be physically fit with competition pit stops in mind
- Must be authorized to work in the United States of America
