Our team is dedicated to pushing the limits of performance, and we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Supervisor to lead our quality assurance team and ensure that our high-performance racing components meet the most stringent industry standards.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor is a leadership-focused role responsible for overseeing the quality inspection team, scheduling work assignments, delegating tasks efficiently, and ensuring streamlined operations within the Vehicle Engineering Department. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of quality assurance, inspection techniques, and process optimization to ensure that all motorsport components meet compliance, safety, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision (Primary Focus)
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Quality Control Technicians, ensuring a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Schedule, coordinate, and delegate inspection tasks efficiently to maximize team productivity and meet deadlines.
- Oversee daily workflow, ensuring quality checks and inspections are performed accurately and on time.
- Provide regular performance feedback, conduct employee evaluations, and implement professional development initiatives for the quality team.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and machining teams to ensure seamless collaboration and efficiency across multiple shifts.
- Implement structured workload distribution to balance priorities effectively.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and efficiency in quality operations.
Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality control processes for motorsports components and systems.
- Oversee first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and capability studies to ensure all parts meet compliance standards.
- Supervise the qualification, calibration, and setup of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and manual measuring tools.
- Ensure compliance with NASCAR, FIA, and other motorsport governing body regulations.
Advanced Inspection & Calibration
- Develop and implement advanced CMM programs using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Utilize vision-based equipment (optical comparators, microscopes, and Romer arms) for high-precision inspections.
- Maintain and oversee calibration schedules for all manual and automated measurement tools.
- Perform detailed measurement verification and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
Data Analysis & Process Optimization
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance performance.
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, statistical process control (SPC), and FMEA for process evaluation and reporting.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of quality reports, inspection logs, and compliance records.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, production, and R&D teams to proactively address quality concerns and optimize component performance.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on inspection techniques, measurement tools, and quality standards.
- Work closely with simulation teams to integrate quality measurements into vehicle modeling and performance analysis.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control systems, minimize waste, and improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement best practices for quality assurance in high-performance motorsport applications.
- Oversee daily and weekly maintenance of quality control equipment, including CMM machines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and workplace regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 5+ years of quality control experience in motorsports, manufacturing, or a related high-performance industry.
Proven experience in leadership, supervision, scheduling, and task delegation in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles, CMM programming, and quality inspection methodologies.
Proficiency in PCDMIS-driven CMMs (experience with CMM Manager, Camio, or Calypso is also beneficial).
Strong analytical skills with experience in SPC, FMEA, and process improvement techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred:
Knowledge of motorsports regulations and standards (NASCAR, FIA).
Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt.
Experience with data analysis tools and inspection software to improve process efficiency.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a high-performance motorsports facility, requiring movement around vehicles, workstations, and machining areas.
- Exposure to loud noise, vibrations, and exhaust fumes is common in this role.
- Requires strong visual acuity, including close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
