Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Setup Mechanic. The candidate should be able to multi-task, and meet tight deadlines within a team oriented environment. Qualified candidates will be able to lead or assist in the finalization and verification of the race setup for the vehicle, as well as input setup information into the database. Qualified candidates must be able to communicate well, work closely with shop peers and car chief to determine that cars are set-up to weekly build specifications. The position requires strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Assist in verifying compliance of the wheel location and offsets to NASCAR gauges.
- Assist in the finalization and verification of the race set-up of the vehicle.
- Assist in inputting set-up information into the database.
- Begin to learn to utilize Romer Arm to confirm set-up specifications and measurements.
- Reference set-up sheet from crew chief or race engineer to confirm weekly build specifications.
- Receive direction and guidance from more experienced set-up mechanics to assist in the set-up process.
- Assist the shop mechanics as needed.

- Technical aptitude – ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
Skills & Abilities:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum two years experience in a related position
- Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, thorough race car components and car systems is required
- Prior race experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with others
- Must be able to travel as needed
- Must be a team player, be able to work a flexible schedule and have a high level of integrity
- Must possess personal tools and equipment
