Red Bull Technology are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Test Engineer to join the R&D Test (Chassis) Group at our Milton Keynes campus.
As part of the Vehicle Design Team, the R&D Test Group is responsible for ensuring our Formula One cars conform to design specification following successful completion of a wide range of verification and homologation tests.
Reporting to the Test Group Leader, the successful applicant will:
- Assume ownership of the test program to complete FiA homologation of the F1chassis, gearbox and associated impact structures. This will include the following responsibilities:
- Liaising with the FiA, external test houses and internal key stake holders.
- Design of the R&D tooling and rigs required to complete the homologation test program.
- Undertake physical tests both in-house and externally with support from within the wider R&D Test group.
- Timely preparation of quality reports following test completion.
- Analyse test requirements, define and execute test programs for a range of additional F1 related R&D requests.
- Design, implement and maintain a variety of test rigs & fixtures required to validate a range of components within the R&D Test department.
To be successful in this Test Engineer role you will need:
- To be highly motivated with proven experience in an F1, high level motorsport or an OEM testing environment.
- A flexible, can-do working approach and the ability to often work within tight timescales.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar) to produce high quality engineering drawings. You will be familiar with the effective use of GD&T and have an eye for engineering detail.
- To possess excellent written and communication skills.
- To be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and have proven hands-on experience.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel such that you can maintain a test history database, produce accurate reporting of test data and communicate results effectively.
Additionally, the following skills would be a significant advantage for this role:
- A knowledge of current laboratory test operating systems such as MTS Multi-Purpose-Testware
- Experience with maintenance, repair, calibration of R&D type test equipment and facilities.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety guidelines for working in an R&D testing environment.
