We have a position within our team for an experienced No 1 Mechanic. This position will be within our Race Support Team based in Enstone however this is a travelling role which will attend all of the RST calendar events.
No 1 Mechanic – The Role
Reporting to the Chief Mechanic, this role will work with and oversee a team of mechanics to support test and show car events throughout the whole RST calendar.
Key accountabilities are:
Lead the build, maintenance and service of the Race Support Team F1 cars whilst following various build procedures and build manuals.
Working to tight timelines while at RST events/tests/factory builds.
Ensure cars are built to correct specification and highest standards.
Keeping a record of all car part life numbers for each event (Working to supplied life build sheets)
Ensure all faults/problems incurred are reported and addressed correctly.
Providing guidance and training to the crew, role modelling attitudes and behaviours.
Attend/support the race team at various F1 tests and Grand Prix.
Assist in Building the Race support team garage set up at the events.
Pit equipment repair, manufacture (Fabricate if possible)
To plan the maintenance and service of the race support team pit equipment.
To work in and maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst at Enstone and events.
No 1 Mechanic – The Person
The successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:
Previous motorsport experience as a mechanic is essential, from within F1 is beneficial.
A good technical understanding of single seater cars.
A strong leader who can guide and motivate the team.
Be self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic.
Can demonstrate a methodical approach to work, with very good attention to detail.
Can prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines, with a flexible approach to both hours and job description.
Have excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across the team and various departments.
