About the Role:
We have an exciting opening for a CFD Engineer to join our Aerodynamics Department.
Reporting to the Principal CFD Engineer, you will help pioneer the use of new Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capability to improve our aerodynamic development process.
Working collaboratively as part of a small team, you will be applying your thoughtful and curious nature to a range of stimulating challenges. By interpreting trends and developing understanding, you will create innovative solutions to complex problems. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.
Key Accountabilities (Duties):
Supporting development of the CFD workflow to increase automation and improve our aerodynamic development approach.
Working on new CFD processes and collaborating with Aerodynamicists to steer how new capabilities are implemented in a production environment.
Adapting code and scripts to create additional functionalities in the workflows.
Looking outwards at new software technology and leveraging new features in third-party software.
Using new capability developed by the CFD methodology group (mesher and solver) and working with Correlation engineers in guiding its implementation.
Communicating progress while working on multiple projects in parallel.
Proactively coordinating the completion of work items.
Providing assistance to team members who are using CFD tools or engaging in related CFD projects.

Candidate Profile
Essential:
A master’s degree, or above, in a relevant discipline. Examples could include: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (e.g. MCompSci, MMath, MPhys, MEng, MSc).
Understanding and experience with the CFD process, from geometry and mesh to solve and post-processing.
Experience with some form of programming and scripting.
Desirable:
Available to start in fourth quarter of 2024.
Experience with commercial CFD software or OpenFOAM.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience with ANSA and Paraview.
Understanding of Git and Azure devOps.

You are equally comfortable working on your own, applying your reflective nature, interpretive skills, attention to detail and dependable judgment to understand complicated problems then propose and evaluate quality solutions in a timely fashion. Whilst a prior involvement in motorsport is not essential, a passion for Formula 1 is highly desirable.
