General Motors LLC is seeking a skilled Paint Process Engineer / Tech Support to optimize our paint manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality finishes and efficient operations. This role involves applying process engineering principles, supporting production, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:

Design and implement manufacturing processes for paint applications, focusing on Design for Manufacturability principles.

Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting issues and optimizing paint line performance.

Utilize GMS (Global Manufacturing System) methodologies to drive operational excellence and lean manufacturing practices.

Develop and implement Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions for paint process control and monitoring.

Ensure compliance with Lockout Tagout procedures and other safety regulations within the paint shop.

Conduct Process Engineering analysis to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve throughput.

Perform Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to mitigate risks and enhance process reliability.

Develop and utilize Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities in the paint process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality to achieve paint quality and efficiency targets.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects to enhance paint shop performance.
Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience

Proven experience in paint process engineering or technical support within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability principles.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing).

Familiarity with GMS (Global Manufacturing System) or similar lean manufacturing methodologies.

Knowledge of Lockout Tagout procedures and industrial safety practices.
