At Synopsys, you will own the technical architecture for SAP suite of applications and other enterprise application platforms that support a global engineering company. The systems are complex, the stakes are real, and what you build will matter.
As a Principal Enterprise Solutions Architect, you will lead end-to-end technical architecture for SAP landscapes (ECC, BW, GRC, SLT, S/4HANA, SAC, BRIM) and adjacent platforms like Atlassian Jira and Confluence, spanning on-premises and cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering requirements from business stakeholders and application development teams, then designing solution architectures that balance performance, security, scalability, and operational reality
- Architecting, configuring, and leading implementation of SAP NetWeaver ABAP/J2EE stack components, SAP HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, and integrations using SAP Cloud Connector, Gateway, and Fiori
- Designing SAP authorization roles and BW analysis roles in partnership with business owners, then building and implementing security frameworks that reduce intrusion, malware, and ransomware risk
- Building automation using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling like Jenkins and Git to streamline administration, integrate with observability stacks, and improve availability and performance
- Defining and monitoring operational KPIs, leading upgrades and patching cycles, tuning system performance, and managing disaster recovery and resiliency processes
- Designing logical and physical data models and database schemas for OLTP, OLAP, and hybrid workloads across SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
The impact you will have:
- Enterprise application platforms that support 30,000 Synopsys employees globally will run more securely, reliably, and efficiently because of the architectures you design
- Business teams will get the SAP functionality and integrations they need faster because you translate their requirements into technical solutions that actually work
- Security posture across SAP and enterprise platforms will improve through authorization frameworks, hardening measures, and disaster recovery processes you put in place
- Operational overhead will decrease as you automate repetitive administration tasks and integrate monitoring to catch issues before they become outages
- Upgrade and migration projects will succeed because you identify risks early, design solid cutover plans, and keep cross-functional teams aligned through execution
- Application development teams will move faster because you provide clear architectural guidance, evaluate emerging technologies, and remove technical blockers
- Database performance and scalability will improve as you design schemas, tune workloads, and establish standards that align with business and application needs
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing SAP technical architectures, including deep expertise in SAP NetWeaver (ABAP and J2EE), SAP HANA, ECC, BW, and S/4HANA
- Proven ability to architect, configure, install, and upgrade SAP platform components including ECC, BW, Solution Manager, GRC, SLT, BOBJ, Fiori, and BRIM
- Strong experience designing SAP authorization roles, BW analysis roles, and security frameworks that address intrusion, malware, ransomware, and disaster recovery scenarios
- Proficiency building automation using Terraform and Ansible, and integrating CI/CD pipelines with monitoring and observability tools to improve service delivery
- Solid database architecture experience across SAP HANA, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning for OLTP and OLAP workloads
- Experience with SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud Connector, and hybrid cloud architectures that span on-premises and cloud environments
- Working knowledge of SUSE Linux, Windows, Ubuntu clustering technologies and Atlassian Jira/Confluence administration and integration
