Role
We are seeking a Logistics Inbound Planning Analyst to design, maintain, and optimize GM’s inbound logistics network for domestic and intercontinental flows. This role combines advanced analytics, automation, and programming capabilities with logistics expertise to deliver proactive solutions that reduce logistics costs, improve efficiency, and ensure flawless material flow to support production.
The ideal candidate is analytical, digitally savvy, and capable of leveraging data-driven tools and programming to enhance planning efficiency and decision-making.
What you will do (responsibilities)
Network Design & Maintenance
- Review and redesign logistics networks to achieve optimal cost and most efficiency network.
- Maintain inbound logistics network to absorb mix and volume fluctuations while maximizing equipment utilization and minimizing cost per cubic meter.
- Support network design for new vehicle launches and major projects, ensuring readiness for flawless execution.
Cost Reduction & Optimization
- Identify and implement logistics cost-reduction initiatives; develop business cases, track savings, and report performance.
- Optimize equipment usage by applying packaging replacement rules and scheduling based on volume forecasts.
Digital Analytics & Automation
- Design and implement automated dashboards and reports using BI tools and Python scripts.
- Use programming languages to automate routines and to optimize network performance.
- Apply data manipulation and visualization techniques to improve decision-making speed and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Interface with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Materials Handling, and Logistics Suppliers to ensure integrated planning and execution.
- Update GM ERP systems and dock maps to synchronize logistics plans with plant operations.
- Conduct training sessions for internal stakeholders on logistics planning and digital tools.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to logistics flow disruptions and cost blowouts.
Your skills and abilities (required qualifications)
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Administration, Logistics, Foreign Trade, or related field.
Languages:
- Intermediate to Advanced English (mandatory).
Previous Experience:
- Proven experience in Logistics, with strong exposure to inbound planning and network optimization.
- Hands-on experience with data analytics and automation projects.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BI tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Programming skills in Python (mandatory); experience with automation frameworks desirable.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics network design.
- Experience with load planning systems (e.g., Maxload) is a plus.
