The Role
The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization is dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous vehicles through cutting-edge simulation technologies and novel iterative development processes. The Software Validation organization holds end-to-end accountability for every capability and feature spanning the autonomy software system.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) supporting the Software Validation team within the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization, you will play a critical role in validation strategy, planning and execution for GM’s autonomous driving program. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams (embodied AI, simulation, testing, product, safety, and systems) to define clear milestones, de-risk dependencies, drive alignment, and execute projects efficiently.
The ideal candidate is both technical and execution-driven, builds trust and confidence with partners quickly, and has experience in AV software verification and validation.
What You’ll Do
· Partner with Software Validation Systems Engineers to break down requirements and technical specs into achievable implementation roadmaps, including planning timelines, key milestones, and identification of cross-team dependencies
· Collaborate with multiple, cross functional engineering teams on critical, technical areas to deliver requirements / guidance for long-lead validation areas
· Align with leaders and engineers from embodied AI, simulation, testing, product, safety, and systems and drive development and execution on validation roadmaps and initiatives, to achieve program goals
· Build trust and strong relationships with partner teams to collaborate and execute efficiently
· Proactively identify technical / program risks and blockers across the AV organization—and drives mitigations, including escalating to program leadership when necessary
· Define and track KPIs, program metrics, and validation milestones to ensure timely delivery of engineering achievements
· Lead program reviews with technical and executive stakeholders across organizations
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
· BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
· 8+ years of engineering and technical program management experience
· A track record of successfully managing technically complex, cross-functional programs
· Strong systems thinking with ability to expose and mitigate risks
· Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level leadership summaries and detailed technical discussions
· Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
· Familiarity with Agile program delivery, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and technical development workflows
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
· Demonstrated experience in data, AI/ML, robotics, or autonomous systems

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

The salary range for this role is $138,900 to $252,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
