What you'll do
We are seeking a Gear Grinder to set, programme, edit, operate and run a range of CNC Gear Grinding machines. You will be responsible for carrying out programming and editing functions to product high quality components to drawing specifications and quality, you will establish best machining methods when required. You will create and save a comprehensive set up procedure document for work undertaken. As well as storing and maintaining all tooling/gauging linked to the process.
What you need
- Gear Grinding experience (critical)
- Extensive experience utilising Kapp-Niles machinery (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated manufacturing problem solving experience
- Demonstrated people skills
- IT Literacy is critical (Including Microsoft Office, Teams, Planner etc.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement experience
- ERP Experience (particularly Epicor) is highly desirable
- Successful completion of an apprenticeship in a manufacturing discipline is highly desirable
- Higher education in an Engineering or related discipline is highly desirable (HNC / HND / Degree)
Why this matters
This role will require the successful candidate to liaise with the Manufacturing Support Office (MSO) to discuss manufacturing issues and label defective parts. You will also undertake day to day machine maintenance including coolant, lubrication and filtration systems. You will reliably record setting and production times using the current system.
